Fuerteventura Calima – Living in Fuerteventura is such a trial!
The wind has changed and is now blowing from the east. This means that we have a Calima which brings with it sand and dust (and heat) from the Sahara Desert (which is only 100 miles away). When this happens the temperatures rise quickly. The temperature has gone from the low to mid 20ºCs into the upper 30ºCs. Oh dear, how terrible.
We get a Calima in Fuerteventura quite a few times during the year. It is all just part of the weather in Fuerteventura that you get used to when living in the Canary Islands.

I have been holidaying in Fuerteventura for over 30 years and have been living here full time since 2013. I have a popular Youtube channel related to this website called JP in Fuerteventura
