Armas Ferry – Fuerteventura to Lanzarote
The ferries between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote run roughly once an hour and are operated by Armas (slow ferry – 35 minutes) and Fred Olsen (fast ferry – 25 minutes).
My son and his wife were staying in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote for a few days, with his wife’s family. So we decided to have a rare “holiday” and travelled over for a night stop to see them.
We caught the first Armas ferry from Corralejo (Volcan de Tindaya) which took us to Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. Although it is the slowest of the two ferries it still only takes around 35 minutes. Just time to have a coffee and a bite to eat. As with most things here, and unlike the UK, the food prices on board are very reasonable. Two coffees and a toasted cheese and ham baguette only cost 5€ (£4.50). On a cross-channel ferry that would have cost probably in excess of £12.
There is much more outside space on this ferry than the faster one, so finding somewhere to sit and watch the world go by would never be a problem. There is even a big “solarium” to sit in if the weather isn’t so good when travelling from Fuerteventura to Lanzarote or Lanzarote to Fuerteventura.
There are now two passenger only ferries which are cheaper to use than the car ferries. One of these is below.

Canary Islands Residents Discount
We took advantage of the Canary Island residents’ discount so our one-way trip from Fuerteventura to Lanzarote, with a car, only cost 31€. Actually, taking the car hardly added anything to the cost of the ticket.
I will show what the Fred Olsen ferry is like in a future video.
I have been holidaying in Fuerteventura for over 30 years and have been living here full time since 2013. I have a popular Youtube channel related to this website called JP in Fuerteventura
